Exceptional Education Anchored by Faith
Catholic Schools week 2023 was packed full of fun:
Day One- Nation Day Trivia where our 8th graders faced off with the teachers
Day Two- Vocations Day with special visits from Fr. Phil, Fr. Shaba and Sister Francesca
Day Three- Weather at your school with WMTW-TV followed by career day- we had visits from so many amazing people including the Bowdoin Women’s Hockey Coach, Firefighter, Helicopter Salesman, Maine State Music Theater, Tree Arborist, Marine Biologist and a Chef.
Day Four- dress like summer day for our indoor winter carnival
Day Five- Neon day and minute it to win it competitions
Our 7th and 8th grade life science students are challenged weekly in Mrs. Paquin’s classroom. Cancer Case Study presentations of research-based diagnosis and treatments are bringing an end to the study on cell reproduction and mitosis. The students had a blast and did a tremendous job exploring the current research available to them. The main reason behind this activity was to teach students how to conduct web-based research, find peer reviewed sources, and use trusted URLs. They have learned to properly cite all their sources.
